Criminal Record Bureau Checks
The company has always requested Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) Disclosures for our child care staff and their supervisors and any other member of staff in a position of responsibility, including driving and cash handling.
If you are offered a position and are required to complete a CRB form, your prompt reply with the completed form and evidence is greatly appreciated. Failure to complete the form in time for the start of your contract may result in the offer of employment being withdrawn.
Should you have a criminal record, this will not necessarily bar you from working with us. In such circumstances, your employment will depend on the circumstances and background of your offences. Our policy on the employment of people with a criminal record is on the attached link: Esprit Holidays Ltd Policy for the Employment of Ex-Offenders. However, we cannot employ some one to work with children who is not registered with the ISA (once the scheme is in operation), or someone who is barred by them.
The CRB has its own Code of Practice and a copy of this is held in the Overseas Personnel Department. Alternatively, you can see it on their web site by going to http://www.crb.homeoffice.gov.uk.
