Tignes
Tignes sits high in a huge bowl at the centre of the Espace Killy ski area and offers the chance to ski nearly all year round thanks to the Grande Motte Glacier that is open during the summer months. Due to its high altitude Tignes has a very reliable snow record and boasts a fast & efficient lift system. Your lift pass will cover the full Espace Killy ski area of Tignes and Val D’Isere, where 97 lifts give access to 300kms of piste, two snow parks and a half pipe. Whether it is for freestyle or freeriding Seasonaires fall in love with Tignes for its extensive, varied terrain.
Tignes has many bars and restaurants to suit all tastes, spread throughout the three areas of the resort – Le Lavachet, Le Lac and Val Claret. These are all easily accessible with the 24 hour bus service. In some bars frequent live acts and DJ sets make for lively Après Ski and there are plenty of nightspots where you can dance until the early hours.
For New Year’s Eve there is a huge outdoor party on the piste with famous DJs and firework displays to make it one of the best parties in the Alps. Tignes is also the venue for the European X-Games which attract the best professional skiers and snowboarders from around the world.
In Tignes you can do pretty much everything, ice skating on the frozen lake, husky dog sledding, horse riding, ice diving and parapenting to mention a few. There is also a sports centre, gym, swimming pool and an indoor climbing wall.
