Travel and Training Overview
If you are successful at interview and join our overseas team you will be required to attend our in-house training either in the UK or overseas before the season starts in November.
The training period is between 7-21 days depending on job role, and is residential in one of our winter ski resorts. The training is a continuation of your interview so successful completion is required.
Travel
Coaches will drive catering and child care staff and other colleagues from regional departure points to your training location in Europe. This will take place around the end of November.
Our resort operations staff will usually be flown from the UK to Geneva slightly earlier for an intensive management training course, before heading out to other training locations to assist with the training of catering and child care staff.
Our Lapland staff will be flown to Finland from a London airport in mid-November. Some staff may be required to come for additional training in the Fleet office.
Training
Training for chalet, Chalet Hotel and Child Care staff will usually commence the day after your arrival in Europe. It is also a continuation of the interview process, and requires your commitment and focus. Your position with us is not confirmed until successful completion of the training course.
Training is demanding and can be tiring, but it will stand you in good stead for the first guest arrivals. It is also a lot of fun; not only a time to learn your role and responsibilities but also a great opportunity to meet and bond with fellow team mates.
Cookery Course
For several years we have been running an all inclusive Cookery Course aimed at encouraging and training potential Chalet Hosts so that they can get the most from their season. Our course is by far the most intensive Alpine cookery course available, and you really will learn all the skills you will need to be a successful Chalet Host. Places on our Cookery Course will only be offered to applicants who have successfully completed our interview process, so we strongly suggest you apply early to guarantee your place.
