Chris Lovelock, Programme Manager (Santa's Lapland)

Having worked in the travel industry for 11 years, Chris has worked several winter seasons in Austria and Lapland followed by two summers in the UK Recruitment Department. Now based full time in the UK, Chris still has the pleasure of heading to Lapland for the Christmas period working with the Lapland Team to provide the most intense and exciting program we have. Who wouldn't want to spend Christmas with the REAL Santa Claus in his native country? 'Who am I?' - not a morning person, need 4 alarm clocks to get me up! I have to have a big cup of tea first thing. I have perfected my snowboarding during my time overseas and Selva val Gardana in the Italian Dolomites is where I would choose for my winter holiday.

FAQs

The season for Santa's Lapland depends on the position you are contracted to do, with management staff being overseas for approximately 7 weeks and the general team being overseas for about 5 weeks.
As you would expect conditions are quite extreme. Temperatures can fall as low as -40 degrees centigrade at night and not get above -15 degrees centigrade even during the day. It is also very dark, with only a little twilight in the middle of the day.
You will be provided with arctic suits and footwear to allow you to complete your roles and to ensure you are properly protected when you are out and about even outside of work hours. You will need to provide your own warm and suitable winter clothing such as thermal base layers and advice on this will be sent separately.
