Lapland Staff Chef

As a Staff Chef will provide a wholesome balanced diet for all Lapland staff on a daily basis

Working as one of our staff chefs is an important role to ensure our Lapland team are well fed in the evenings. Based on a menu you will be preparing one meal per evening for a large team of resort staff, which is delivered to their accommodation via the resort assistants.

This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in producing delicious home cooked meals and comfortable catering for a large number of people taking into account any dietary requirements.

The staff chef will also assist with deliveries and stock allocation to our staff accommodations and guest cabins. Our staff chef will be friendly, committed to the Santa’s Lapland experience, happy to work on their own and is a crucial part of the Santa’s Lapland team.

The season for Santa's Lapland depends on the position you are contracted to do, with management staff being overseas for approximately 7 weeks and the general team being overseas for about 5 weeks.
As you would expect conditions are quite extreme. Temperatures can fall as low as -40 degrees centigrade at night and not get above -15 degrees centigrade even during the day. It is also very dark, with only a little twilight in the middle of the day.
You will be provided with arctic suits and footwear to allow you to complete your roles and to ensure you are properly protected when you are out and about even outside of work hours. You will need to provide your own warm and suitable winter clothing such as thermal base layers and advice on this will be sent separately.
